The surface your child touches is a soft organic cotton pile — breathable, gentle on skin, and comfortable for crawling, sitting, and play. Cotton is washable, familiar, and easy to care for at home.

What is the rug made from?
A 100% organic cotton pile on a woven cotton base. There is no synthetic foam, no latex coating, and no glued-on non-slip layer.
What dyes are used?
Fiber-reactive dyes selected for wash fastness, so colors stay true through repeated machine washing.
Is there an adhesive or backing?
No. The base is woven cotton. Grip comes from a separate, removable rug pad — which is what keeps the rug itself fully machine washable.
Where is the rug manufactured?
Gatsby Baby rugs are designed by an American family and produced with trusted manufacturing partners. The manufacturing country for every design is stated clearly on its product page.
What certifications apply?
We list certifications only when they are verified and current. Each certification — and the testing report behind it — is published here as it is completed, never claimed in advance.
What claims are independently verified?
Any health, allergen, air-quality, or safety claim will be verified by an independent laboratory before it appears on this site. Until then, you won't see it here.
